CHAM has partnered with Housing Development Center (HDC), to bring CHAM’s popular training program, Asset Management Specialist (AMS) to the West Coast! You’ll learn the fundamentals of asset management for affordable rental housing, with an emphasis on overseeing property performance and fulfilling owner goals.

Join this exclusive cohort of affordable housing professionals in the West Coast to gain skills, network amongst your peers, and earn your AMS certificate. Here is what is included:

• Participate in 8 live virtual instructor-led sessions with HDC’s Kimberly Taylor.
• Receive structured guidance to complete the AMS certificate in 6 months.
• Network with affordable housing peers from across the industry.
• Take the 3 on-demand courses needed to earn your AMS: Nuts and Bolts of Asset Management (AM121), Asset Management Fundamentals (AM290), Financial Fundamentals of Asset Management (AM291).

What You Will Learn:

• Roles and responsibilities the asset manager plays through the life stages of a property
• Property performance indicators
• Basics of an affordable housing deal and importance of setting up deal books for each property
• Components of property and portfolio asset management plans
• How to apply real estate financial analysis tools to a property and identify options for improving financial performance

Time Commitment:

• We will offer 8 instructor-led sessions between February 2025 and August 2025. Each session is 90 minutes. NEW Kickoff session: Tuesday February 25, 2025
• Each of the 3 on-demand CHAM courses takes 10 to 15 hours to complete, including exercises and the exam.
